CMS has released the 2017 Medicare costs.
Medicare Part A costs will change as follows:
|Inpatient hospital deductible||$1,288||$1,316|
|Daily coinsurance for 61st-90th Day||322||329|
|Daily coinsurance for lifetime reserve days||644||658|
|Skilled Nursing Facility coinsurance||161||164.50|
As expected, there will be a price increase to Part B premiums this year. The majority of American seniors (those that earn less than $85,000/year) fall into one of two categories. If your monthly Medicare Part B premiums last year were $104.90, then they will increase in 2017 to $109.00 per month. If your monthly premiums in 2016 were $121.80, then they will increase to $134.00 for 2017. In addition to the monthly premium increase, the Part B deductible will increase from $166 in 2016 to $183 in 2017.
